Trauma

The recognition and treatment of trauma is something I'm really into at the moment. Its effects on the mind and in the body can be long-lasting, surprising, diverse, disruptive, confusing.

Here are a couple of links to get you going:
Peter Levine on YouTube
Interview with Peter Levine
(You'll have to use the "back" link to return to this page)

I did some sessions of Peter Levine's therapy, Somatic Experiencing, in the last few weeks, and will be starting the three year training in May 2010.

thank you Vicky for writing this...i dont think many people understand the terrible impact of trauma and the depths of its effects.. .it can be so hard to communicate this experience to others especially when the causes do not fit into the typical and known scenarios... and are met with explanations like "its your karma" or "why dont you want to heal this" which may be relevant but not at all helpful.....just a few sentences like this offering some sort of recognition helps take the stigma and isolation away.

i love peter levines book..great guy...good luck with the training.
